[edit] Into what Unix and open source topics am I?
Now I've been using Unix/Linux for two years (as of 2007) and I'm starting to be convinced of this: *nixes rule! My favourite is NetBSD but I also appreciate Linux a lot (mostly the GNU components of it, GNU bash, GNU screen, GNU less, GNU emacs). Currently learning Unix-like operating systems is just a hobby of mine. I'm most interested in learning to do as much as possible on the command line, bash scripting, sed & awk scripting and working with other venerable and basic tools. Oh and of course I'm trying to study C, because it's priceless if you really want to understand the nitty-gritty details of how *nixes are working. I'm also quite fascinated by using Linux for being able to work on old hardware (pc's 10 year or older), as lean and mean as possible. Puppy Linux for example is a distro which performs good on older hardware and is easy to use.
[edit] Why did I join ClubNix?
Why? Well, not to get any help anyway, I'm a manual freak. I'm a big big fan of man pages :-D But exchanging ideas, some cozy chatting, hearing of other Unix-fans what they're using Unices and open-source software for would be very nice. And of course collectively swearing at M$ Windows :-P For the moment I'm afraid I'm to much a newbie to be of any help to others.
