In July and August ClubNix is having its summer holidays break so no meetings. We'll be very busy organizing Software Freedom Day 2010 all summer and hope to see you there.

Software Freedom Day is een uitgebreide open dag over Linux en over vrije en open source software. Er is voor ieder wat wils over Linux en vrije software, voor niet-technische thuisgebruikers, power user thuisgebruikers, over gebruik in het onderwijs, in bedrijven, bij de overheid. Meer details over het programma zullen binnenkort bekend zijn maar hier alvast een indruk wat je kan verwachten:

Drie series lezingen (tracks) die steeds gelijktijdig gehouden worden.

Track multimedia: Muziek, video & gaming.
Track gebruikers: O.a. OpenOffice.org (tekstverwerker en meer), Firefox (surfen), Gimp (fotobewerking).
Track politiek: Over vrije en open source software en open content bij de overheid.

Verder zijn er allerlei standjes waar projecten, communities, verenigingen, bedrijven en anderen zichzelf presenteren. Hou deze pagina of het ClubNix forum in de gaten voor meer nieuws of kijk op www.sfd2010.nl.

N.B. In tegenstelling tot gewone bijeenkomsten van ClubNix staat op deze open dag de deur de hele dag gewoon open voor mensen die later komen. Toegang is gratis.

We beginnen met het beantwoorden van vragen over Linux en open source software. Neem zonodig je laptop of pc mee. Daarna is er volop tijd voor: ideeën uitwisselen, discussie, elkaar Linux software en gadgets laten zien, misschien zelfs een korte geïmproviseerde lezing, enz. N.B. De deur gaat dicht nadat we beginnen. Op de deur hangt een briefje met het telefoonnummer wat je moet bellen om binnen te komen.	We'll start with helping people with their Linux and open source questions. You can bring your laptop or PC if needed. After that there will be plenty of time for exchanging ideas, discussion, showing each other Linux related stuff, maybe even a short impromptu presentation and so on. N.B. The door is locked after the meeting starts. Call the phone number on the note stuck to the door to get in.

[edit] About the ClubNix meetings

Most meetings we have a presentation. There is plenty of opportunity to interrupt the speaker with questions about the subject.
We have some ideas for future meetings. But please feel free to submit your own: Potential Presentation Topics for 2010 (thread on ClubNix forum)
Meetings are generally on the second Sunday of the Month at 13:00 hours. If in doubt check this webpage.
After the meetings discussions can be continued at Paviljoen Malieveld, 5-10 minutes walking distance at the Koekamplaan 6, 2594 AA Den Haag on the opposite side of the Malieveld.
